Mahwah, NJ (January 9, 2009). Dr. Annette S. Freund, Owner and Managing Director of Freund Associates Technical Communication in Mahwah, has been elected President of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce. A resident of Mahwah for 20 years and member of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce for 10 of them, she has served on the organization’s Board of Directors as Public Relations Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, Editor of the Chamber newsletter, and Senior Vice President. 

“My predecessors have built a large and strong organization,” said Dr. Freund. “We recently registered our 500th member. I’d like to continue this growth by offering even more services to our members, to our communities, to businesses and families relocating here, and even to tourists.”  

“The Chamber is an integral part of the community. What builds a better business community also builds a better community. This year we will be encouraging our members to get involved in the Chamber and give back to the community.” 

Annette holds a doctor of arts degree in English/Writing Specialist from the State University of New York at Albany and has 20 years of experience in technical writing for corporations, plus 14 years of university teaching experience. In 2003, her company achieved national certification as a woman-owned business through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. Her professional memberships include the Society for Technical Communication.

An active 4-H Club leader and volunteer in the community, Annette resides in Mahwah with her husband, John, and their two teenagers, Kathryn and Stephen.
